Children Supporting Solace (CSS)

Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and father is to care for orphans and widows in their distress (James 1:27). Established in December 2020, Solace Orphanage International has a capacity of serving thirty children, accepting ages 0 to 10 years old.

CSS (Children Supporting Solace) is a volunteer movement of children desiring to actively support this orphanage. CSS children are those who have made a commitment to Alms for Psalm 119. This means they have committed to memory Psalm 119:9-16. By committing these specific eight verses (one unit) to memory, they have completed their requirement for CSS membership and have become a contributor to Alms for Psalms 119. Their memory work will then be matched by a $50 contribution to the Solace Orphanage from a willful adult. After memorizing verses 9-16, the CSS member can choose to memorize other 8 verse units. There are 22 units within Psalm 119. With each unit memorized, a $50 donation will be given.

Another way for CSS members to help raise money for Solace is by doing volunteer work, and then for that work to be matched by an adult’s contribution of $100.

There are many creative ways for earning this money:

  1. Community project: there are those needy people within a church family, neighborhood, community, etc., who need help with their yard, house, etc. Children select a work which can be done either individually or by a group. Children then ask others (family, churches, neighbors, etc.) for pledges.
  2. Hiring oneself for an hourly wage: work could include yard or garden work, house cleaning, dog walking, babysitting, etc.

If you desire to participate, please email board member Stacy Sikes at scsikes73@aol.com. He will be happy to address any questions and would also like to have your email information.
